He began his career working at the Istanbul office of EY, a financial auditing and consulting firm. Following this experience, he completed a master’s degree in international relations at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston between 2021 and 2023. After completing his master’s degree, Mustafa Gül continued as a Research Assistant at the Fletcher Russia and Eurasia Programme, affiliated with the Fletcher School. Following this experience, he worked as a Research Assistant in the Turkey Studies Programme at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a Washington-based think tank. He continues to work as an independent political risk analyst, a role he began in 2024, and as a Member of Parliament Advisor, a position he started in 2025.
