Politics Program
The primary aim of the program is to conduct competent analyses of Türkiye’s political problems and processes and to share these studies with political decision-makers and the public. The Politics Program focuses on Turkish politics, specifically on internal and external factors affecting this field. Political parties, the state, pressure groups, and democratic processes constitute its main areas of interest. In this context, it aims to contribute to Türkiye’s accumulated knowledge through field studies, publications, workshops, panels and conferences.
It builds on being “independent” and producing “community-oriented” ideas, by being aware of the difficulties in its field of activity in Türkiye, where political polarization is high.

The Differences of Saraçhane from Gezi
Turkiye, where the Saraçhane events began, has long been in economic crisis, its political atmosphere has become quite authoritarian, and according to international indexes, it is a Turkiye of very unhappy people. In 2013, Gezi had started in a Turkiye whose economy was much better compared to today and where plurality of voices was incomparably higher than it is now. Today, Turkiye’s young population between the ages of 15 and 30 is around 20 million. More than 7 million of these are university students. Compared to Gezi, the number of young people receiving higher education has increased by around 40%.
