Dr. Gökhan Çınkara is a faculty member at Necmettin Erbakan University and director of the Center for Global and Regional Studies (NEÜ SAM). He also appears as a commentator on channels such as Habertürk and NTV and writes columns for Independent Türkçe. He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University, between 2005 and 2010, and received his PhD in Political Science from the same university in 2020. During his doctoral studies, he worked as a visiting researcher at the Truman Center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 2016 to 2017 and at the Schusterman Center at Brandeis University from 2017 to 2018, deepening his expertise in Middle Eastern politics and international relations. He began his academic career in 2011 as a research assistant at Ankara University and continued in this position until 2020. Between 2018 and 2020, he worked as an analyst at the Presidency. Since 2021, he has been continuing his academic research and teaching activities as an assistant professor at Necmettin Erbakan University. In addition to his university duties, he regularly writes opinion pieces and columns for various publications such as Habertürk and Independent Türkçe. His writings have also been published in international publications such as AGSIW, The Washington Institute, American Conservative, and The National Interest. Dr. Çınkara's research focuses on the Middle East, Arab Gulf countries, the Muslim Brotherhood, Salafism, and political Islam networks in general, with a particular emphasis on the Israel/Palestine issue.
